Hey friends,

When life gets loud, yoga helps.

And not just because it feels good to stretch.

Yoga has a way of doing something deeper.

It helps you slow down.
It helps you breathe differently.
It helps your nervous system settle.
It helps your body and mind come back into balance.

In a season where routines can get messy and stress can build quickly, that matters.

A lot.

That’s one of the reasons we love yoga so much this time of year.

It’s not just about flexibility.
It’s not just about fitness.
It’s about learning how to come back to yourself.

To feel grounded.
To feel steady.
To feel clear.
To feel like you again.

If your week has felt rushed, heavy, or overstimulating… let class be your reset.

Come breathe.
Come move.
Come regulate.

Come leave feeling better than when you walked in.

Stay Strong. Stay Steady.

See you in class.

Spotlight on: Sherry G.! From marathon miles to mobility wins, Sherry’s journey is a reminder that growth doesn’t stop when life changes direction—it simply finds a new path. Read on to see what she shared with us.

You’ve gone from running marathons and races to building strength and mobility through Pilates and Yoga. What has that transition taught you about redefining strength and success in different seasons of life?

“Training as a distance runner and completing 15 half marathons and 1 full marathon taught me patience and consistency. I thought I could run forever, because of Rheumatoid Arthritis that came to a halt. Finding something that’s equally challenging yet safe for my joints was hard.

The 2 weeks unlimited package was the best gift.  Transitioning in this season of my life to yoga and pilates is a game changer. I turned 52 this year and am stronger than I’ve ever been. This transition has taught me that’s it’s never too late to get back what I had and more. I’ve gotten back that runners high.  The combination of yoga, pilates, and strength training gives my body the perfect balance of training each muscle yet protecting my joints and even working through pain with modification.”

Your teachers say you’re always willing to try something new and embrace a challenge. What motivates you to keep stepping outside your comfort zone in your wellness journey?
“I love challenges and am very competitive with myself. What motivates me is looking at the mirror and seeing what I see now versus what I saw a year ago.

Not just what I saw but what I felt.  I saw inflammation.   I felt joint pain and stiffness. Now I see more tone, I feel so energetic with less stiffness.  I will always have joint pain but this is a way to minimize it. I have 2 very energetic granddaughters and stepping outside my comfort zone and embracing new challenges compliments my relationship with them. To keep up with a 2 and 4 year old you need a variety of training.  My goal is the journey to longevity.”

You’ve done an amazing job documenting your commitment to becoming a better version of yourself. Looking back, what’s one moment or milestone that made you realize how far you’ve come?

“One evening in strength training class with Tre there were no 12 or 15 pound weights left just 20’s.

I looked at Tre and said well I guess I’m using 20’s. She smiled.   Of course I had my doubts, and if I wasn’t forced outside of my comfort zone I would’ve have never known.  Now all I reach for are 20’s.  It still blows my mind that just a few months ago I struggled with 8’s. Winning Hecka 1 on 1 training really helped define who I could be. It’s given me so much confidence.”

This week’s theme is “Yoga = Nervous System Reset.” In what ways has yoga helped you not just physically with pain and mobility, but mentally or emotionally in helping you slow down, reset, or feel more grounded?

“Yoga is so powerful.   I have suffered from anxiety in the past. Yoga and meditation helped me through mental clarity.  Bikram yoga pushes me to expand my mindset  “mind over matter”, but it also teaches me to be present.  To hear my heart and quiet my thoughts.  After each class it feels like all the negativity has been sweated away and someone hit the restart button.  Sleeping and resting have been amazing.”

A heartfelt thank you to Sherry for taking the time to share her journey with us. Her story is one of resilience, grit, and the power of continuing to show up for yourself through every season of life.
