There are a lot of reasons to come to class.
To get stronger.
To sweat.
To improve flexibility.
To build endurance.
To stay consistent.
All good reasons.
But honestly?
One of the best reasons to come to class this summer is simple:
Because of how you feel after.
Calmer.
Clearer.
Stronger.
More energized.
More grounded.
More like yourself.
That’s what we’re really after.
Not perfection.
Not pressure.
Not chasing some impossible ideal.
Just the kind of movement that helps you feel better in your body and better in your life.
That’s why we believe so deeply in this work.
- Yoga helps regulate stress, calm the nervous system, and bring you back to center.
- Inferno Hot Pilates builds strength, boosts mood, and gives you that powerful “I’m so glad I came” feeling.
This summer, let your practice support you.
One class at a time.
One breath at a time.
One week at a time.
Stay Strong. Stay Steady.
See you in class!
HEALING ONE PRACTICE AT A TIME
This week, we’re honored to share Karrie B.’s inspiring story of recovery, resilience, and rediscovering strength after a total hip replacement.
Karrie reflects on how her practice supported her healing journey and reminds us that progress is about embracing each new season of life.
“Two years ago, on June 24th, 2024 I experienced a life-changing event when I underwent a total hip replacement on my right hip.
“I have been a Bikram Yoga practitioner for over 10 years, and I have found this practice transformational in many ways. It has benefited my mental health, physical health, and spiritual health.
“I have great affection for this Bikram Yoga Tracy family. Quick shout out to Jonalyn who has been a consistent source of energy, inspiration and mentor.
“I had been struggling for years to come to the decision to undergo this surgery, and at 45 the pain became too debilitating to continue putting it off.
As a former elite collegiate swimmer, I could not imagine not being able to remain fully active.
“Unfortunately, I had a lot of preconceived notions of a person with an artificial hip: that I wouldn’t be able to walk without a cane, that it was for “old” people, and ultimately, that I would be permanently fused in one place in a stagnant life.
I put off the surgery way longer than I should have.
“Once decided, I prepared myself by working through the pain to stay fit, but the degeneration was acute and I was taking a daily regimen of Ibuprofen just to get through work and enjoy even the ordinary small things. It was time. The date was set, and the surgery finally took place.
“The first 6 months, post-op, were very challenging. Learning to walk again was humbling, but the many years of yoga I had under my belt served me in unforeseen ways during my recovery.
“During my final followup with the orthopedic surgeon, he was impressed by my ability to do a full-squat in his office, and revealed that he’d never had a patient do that before! I am certain that without my yoga practice, I would be doing no squats in the doctor’s office so soon after a complete hip replacement.
“Rehabilitation is a long road–maybe healing is forever! One of my favorite Bikram adages is, yoga is about getting better at life, not about getting better at doing yoga.
“Healing is like that, you’ve got to be in it for the long haul and commit to getting a little stronger and better each day.
“The healing process since my hip surgery is not just about my hip. At first, all I wanted to do was stand on the new hip with my full weight. That took almost a year, but it felt so incredibly great when I did, that I was overcome with a spiritual healing as well.
“When the intrusive thoughts about being out of shape start, I focus harder in the mirror and quiet those negative feelings, working on my mental healing.
“When I overextend or fall out of a pose, I always try to finish in the best pose I can that day, ever working toward a whole body physical healing.
“Every practice brings me closer to a new maximum, and I must not compare my present self to my old self. I think after significant injuries and surgeries, (like major changes such as pregnancy, or getting through grief or illnesses), we walk away with a renewed sense of self, a new season.
“I also turned to my best resources, the experts in the room. The teaching staff at Bikram Yoga Tracy are what has kept me going these 10 years, and I look forward to 10 more.
“I really love this studio and look forward to deepening these relationships. It’s a very special thing to ask someone to witness your struggle, and I am so thankful to each of them.
“So, on this two year anniversary of having a new hip, I got some photos taken by the fabulous Tiffany, and owned every bit of my new self.
“We are much more than our bodies, we are our mind-body connection and I am loving mine.”
Thank you, Karrie, for so openly sharing your journey with our community. Your courage, honesty, and perspective are a beautiful reminder that healing isn’t about returning to who we were—it’s about becoming who we’re meant to be. We’re grateful to be part of your journey and look forward to many more years of practicing together.
One of our very own members recently walked the red carpet at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival as a brand ambassador for Mrs India Queen of Substance.
We are incredibly proud of Remya N. and all that she has accomplished, and we’re honored to have played a small part in helping her prepare both physically and mentally for this exciting opportunity. Fun fact: Remya was crowned Mrs. India in 2021!
