Summer has a way of changing our routines.

Vacations, busy schedules, unexpected life events, or simply the demands of everyday life can pull us away from the things that help us feel our best.

If that’s been your experience, we want to remind you of something simple: It’s never too late to come back.

You don’t need to make up for missed classes.

You don’t need to wait until life settles down or your schedule is perfect.

You don’t need to “get back in shape” before walking through our doors.

Just come back.

Whether it’s been a week, a month, or much longer, your practice is here when you’re ready. Your mat is still here. Your community is still here.

One class can be the beginning of feeling stronger, calmer, more energized, and more like yourself again.

This summer, we’re choosing consistency over perfection and progress over pressure. Wherever you are today, we’ll meet you there.

Jen’s Story: Strength Beyond the Mat

We’re honored to share Jennifer’s story of resilience, faith, and healing.

After months of courage, perseverance, and healing, she’s back on her mat.

This week, Jennifer shares her story in her own words—a reminder that strength isn’t just built in the body, but also through the people who stand beside us.

“For most of my life, movement has been my passion.

I’ve always loved being active. Whether I was running half marathons, training for Spartan races, hiking, or challenging myself with new fitness goals, staying healthy wasn’t just something I did, it was part of who I was.

“Exercise gave me confidence, strength, and joy. Every workout reminded me of what my body was capable of.

In 2024, while I was in the middle of training and racing, I decided to try something new.

I walked into my first Hot Pilates class.

“I originally thought Pilates would simply make me a stronger runner. Instead, I discovered something that would change my life.

I fell in love with it.

I loved how it strengthened both my body and mind, but what truly made me stay was the community.

“The instructors, the friendships, the encouragement, and the positivity created an environment where everyone felt welcomed, supported, and inspired.

Looking back now, I believe God was preparing me long before I knew what was ahead.

“Just one year later, everything changed.

In August, I was diagnosed with Stage 2A HER2-positive breast cancer.

It was a diagnosis I never expected.

I had always believed that living a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and taking care of my body meant I was doing everything right. Hearing the words, “You have cancer,” reminded me that cancer doesn’t discriminate. It can happen to anyone.

“Suddenly, my life became a series of chemotherapy treatments, surgery, radiation, immunotherapy, scans, lab work, and countless doctor’s appointments.

The body that once carried me across finish lines now struggled with fatigue, muscle pain, neuropathy, weakness, and exhaustion.

“For the first time in my life, I couldn’t rely on my physical strength.

But I learned that true strength comes from somewhere much deeper.

As I continued treatment, my doctors encouraged me to begin moving again. I knew exactly where I wanted to go.

“Seven months later, I returned to Hot Pilates.

Walking back into the studio was emotional. My body had changed. My strength was gone. I couldn’t do what I used to do.

But that didn’t matter.

“I wasn’t welcomed back because of what I could accomplish.

I was welcomed back because I belonged.

One class at a time, Pilates became an important part of my healing journey.

“It helped me reconnect with my body after months of treatment. It rebuilt my strength, restored my confidence, improved my balance, and reminded me that healing isn’t about rushing back to who you used to be.

Healing is about honoring where you are today.

“Some days, healing looked like finishing a workout.

Some days, it looked like simply showing up.

Both were victories.

“Today, I’m officially in remission.

I’m slowly returning to running, setting new fitness goals, and dreaming about crossing finish lines again. But I’ve realized something even more important.

My greatest accomplishment was never crossing a finish line.

“It was never giving up.

Cancer changed my body, but it also transformed my heart.

It taught me patience.

It taught me gratitude.

It taught me to celebrate every healthy day.

“Most importantly, it taught me that healing doesn’t happen alone.

To my Bikram family, thank you for believing in me before cancer, encouraging me during cancer, and celebrating every milestone afterward.

“Your kindness, positivity, and unwavering support became an important part of my recovery. You reminded me that even on my weakest days, I was never walking this journey alone.

“Looking back, I don’t believe Hot Pilates entered my life by accident.

I believe God placed it in my life long before my diagnosis because He knew I would need not only the physical strength it would build, but also the incredible community that would help carry me through one of the hardest seasons of my life.

“My story isn’t about what cancer took from me.

It’s about what God has done through me.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

With gratitude,

Jen”
