Summer is right around the corner.
Schedules start to shift… routines loosen up… vacations pop up… and before you know it, it’s easy to fall out of rhythm.
And here’s the thing—we see it every year.
People step away for a few weeks… and then coming back feels harder than it needs to.
So this year, we want to do things differently.
Instead of waiting until your routine falls off, we’re encouraging you to stay more intentional from the start.
Not perfect.
Not all-in.
Just connected.
Because even a little consistency goes a long way when it comes to:
keeping your body strong
managing stress
maintaining energy
feeling like yourself
That’s what this practice is really about.
Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be sharing simple ways to help you stay strong and steady through the summer months—without pressure and without overwhelm.
For now, just start thinking about this:
What would it look like to stay connected to your practice this summer?
We’ll help you figure it out.
STUDENT SPOTLIGHT
This week’s spotlight is on Camaya J., whose quiet presence carries a strong, steady dedication to her practice.
From Bikram to Pilates to Strength, she shows up consistently and puts in the kind of work that speaks for itself.
You’re one of our most consistent members across Bikram, Pilates, and Strength—what keeps you coming back and staying so committed?
“I honestly fell in love with Bikram the very first time I took a class. At first, I focused on just staying consistent with that, and over time I built the confidence to branch out into Pilates and Strength training, and I’m so glad I did! I really enjoy exploring different classes and seeing what each one brings out of me. More than anything, I’ve grown to appreciate what my mind and body are capable of, things I never thought possible! I truly believe that anyone who has the ability to move their body should take advantage of it. The benefits are real, and they go far beyond the physical. This practice has become such an important part of my routine, and I’ve never felt better mentally or physically.”
You’ve been described as a “quiet storm”—strong, focused, and humble. Does that resonate with you, and how would you describe your approach to your practice?
“Yes, that description really resonates with me, both inside and outside of class.
Strength, to me, isn’t just physical, it’s showing up even when it’s hard, staying disciplined, and pushing through discomfort. Focus comes from being fully present in the moment, especially in classes like Bikram where you really have no choice but to lock in. And staying humble is remembering that there’s always room to grow. No matter how consistent I’ve been, every class still challenges me in a new way.”
You take such a well-rounded mix of classes. What does each format (Bikram, Pilates, Strength) give you that the others don’t?
” Each class gives me something different, which is why I love having a mix.
Bikram gives me a sense of calmness and mental clarity by forcing me to slow down, focus, and stay present. Pilates feels more upbeat and energizing, and it naturally lifts my mood even when I’m struggling through it. Strength training, on the other hand, brings out a different kind of determination. It pushes me to challenge myself physically, whether that’s completing one more rep or going heavier than I did before. Together, they balance each other out perfectly. Each class teaches me something different, but all of them help me build trust and confidence in myself, reminding me that I can do literally anything!”
What changes have you noticed in yourself—physically or mentally—since building such a consistent practice?
“I’ve noticed so many physical and mental changes since becoming consistent. Mentally, I’ve learned how to be more present and grounded, even when life feels overwhelming.
Just showing up to class regularly has helped me manage stress and quiet a lot of the constant overthinking. Physically, my body has changed, but not just in the way you might think. Yes I’ve lost weight, but the biggest difference is how I feel. Moving my body consistently has made me feel stronger, healthier, and more in tune with myself. It’s made me want to take better care of myself overall, whether that’s staying active, hydrated, or just being more mindful of my habits.”
For someone who wants to build consistency but struggles to stay on track, what advice would you give them?
” I think the biggest thing is figuring out your “why”. Once you find your reason, it becomes less about motivation and more about commitment.
But, at the same time life is life, so it’s important to be flexible and work with what you got. If your goal is to make it to class a certain number of times a week but something comes up, do what you can, even if it’s just a quick stretch during your lunch or a short workout once you make it home. Something is always better than nothing and even small efforts add up over time. Most importantly, don’t be too hard on yourself, just keep showing up! If you fall off track, just take it as a learning moment and start again. I’ve come to find consistency isn’t about being perfect, it’s about continuing to show up.”
Thank you, Camaya, for sharing your insight and perspective on your wellness journey—your steady dedication is truly inspiring.
